Australasian Computer Science Week 2017

It's now only 2 days before Carolyn and I fly down to Geelong to spend the week at the ACSW multi-conference. In particular, we will be presenting a CAFE workshop at the Australasian Computing Education Conference (ACE2017) and I will be presenting a paper as well. The paper is on the latest Australia-New Zealand survey of first year university programming courses - languages and environments that are used.

Carolyn and I are hoping that we will be able to make some connections with academics who wish to complete cognitive load theory-based case studies on their courses. We have a new tool available to help educators plan the measures they will use to complete a case study, and are currently conducting a research project with some academics who are using the new tool and delivering changed courses in Semester 1 2017. If you are interested in being part of this study, please contact me today. We are also interested in seeing what other academics are doing in the computing education area, and will be attending a workshop on Increasing Diversity and Engagement in Computer Science Education. See you there!
